This is a quick and easy dessert to throw together. Love that is flourless and full of fiber! Could be served warm with coconut ice cream.
(2) 15 oz cans of organic chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
1/3 cup organic 100% maple syrup
1 cup organic unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup organic unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup organic almond butter
1 organic egg
1/2 teaspoon organic almond extract or 1 tablespoon organic vanilla extract
2 teaspoons aluminum free baking powder
1 1/2 cups organic cacao chips
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Line a 9×9 or 9×13 pan with parchment paper (depending on your desired thickness) and using a paper towel, coat with coconut oil. In a blender add drained chickpeas, maple syrup, almond milk, apple sauce, almond butter, egg, almond extract and baking powder. Puree until smooth. Add chocolate chips to mixture.
Bake for 40-60 minutes until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Time will very depending the pan used.
